A gentleman from Scotland writes: "I was one of many ( thousands I am beginning to suspect ) whose heart was suddenly and unaccountably lifted at the news of the re-awaking of Senua: to the extent that I bemused family and colleagues by creating simple " Senua awake - and greet the sun" screensavers for work and my home computers (because the words move accross the screen continuously it's a bit like the 21st c version of a Tibetan prayer wheel, and has the same spiritual effect - the goddess is honoured in a cumulative way). "Months later with my wife, daughter and grandchildren I took a break to explore Hadrian's Wall (long overdue family expedition: we wanted to know what it would feel like to stand on the border and look out), and the Roman and Romano/British sites along it. At each of the temple sites we came accross I secreted a 5p piece (the smallest nickel silver British coin - about the size of an old cent) in Senua's name: I'm not quite sure what I was doing, except evoking and honouring the name along the border for the first time in 2000 years seemed an urgent and good thing to do. "A month later I was in trouble - perhaps the worst I have faced - and really prayed fervently for the first time in my life: but to Senua in the shape of the moon. I vowed to dedicate her a sacrifice of silver if I got clear unscathed, and months later made that sacrifice with gratitude and relief (I had in mind the dedication on one of the pieces found when Senua's statue was recovered) - if anyone ever asks you why people dedicated sacrifices to Senua you may tell them from me it is because she listens!!"
